I was invited to make this temporary 20' x 20' painting on the stage of the Grand Rapids Civic Theater in 2010 as part of their second ArtPrize event. I had 3 days to paint the interior of the historic theater space, which included the painting itself. Visitors were invited to stand in the center and view the scene which is otherwise rather abstract/less legible. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to do something like this for a longer period in a less empty space.
